how much will laptop prices go down in a year

im wondering if i should buy an laptop now or in a year if its chaper. plz help

since better technology comes out every year laptop prices go down $ 200-$ 500

if you need it now get it. or get the one you wanted now a year from now but used and pay half price.

It’s going to stay the same. Laptops are in demand now, and that’s only going to grow. Desktops will decrease on the other hand.

Depends on the laptop…..just like cars…

Crummy laptops like sonys and toshiba fall like bricks…..while IBMs and panasonics fall like mollasses (very slowly) and sometime go up….in the ibm z61m example…in which its price doubled when it was discontinued….

Prices won’t go down much lower than they currently are. You’ll see that you get more CPU power, maybe more memory, and larger hard drives for the same money if you wait.

It’s always a case of whatever you buy today is replaced by something better tomorrow.

You can watch for sales – back to school offers are coming around now, and (in the USA) there’s always the super Black Friday deals after Thanksgiving.

In general they don't go down in price. Because faster and more sophisticated notebooks will keep coming out and the price of those will remain same; for example a midrange notebook might cost you around $ 1200 today, and it will still cost you $ 1200 for a midrange notebook in a year from now. However the same $ 1200 notebook today, will go down few hundreds in a few months from now (maybe down to around $ 700), but by that time, it is no more a midrange notebook, I'll be a low-end one compared to other notebooks on the market.

You can always buy a better notebook for the same price (or the same notebook for a better price) if you start to wait it will never end….. therefore, buy one when you really need one.

Youll have this same question next year.

Think about that.

If you have the money now, go for it now. If money is tight and its not a need, wait.

I would say buy a laptop when you need it. The prices on Laptops seem to go down every year and the technology getting better, but if you want to wait for the latest technology on a laptop you will “never” get one.

One advice I can give you is to wait for the school specials in your areas or specials just after new year. You will most likely get a good deal in those months.

Good luck and enjoy your new laptop :)

pink laptops.i am curious about why dell in u.s.a. laptop prices are more expensive than in asian countries like hong kong. for example, the model xps m1330. In usa, it is sold at the price of USD 1584 without including processor of intel core duo T7300, 2 gig memory, audigy sound blaster, adapter, bluetooth, if you want to add these things, they are approximately 200 usd short. and in hong kong, these stuffs are available and at a cheaper price of USD 1443. computer experts or those who have well-knowledge, can you please explain to me simply what differs into it, and if you are to buy, which country would you prefer to buy from?
thanks, greatly appreciated!

The simple fact is, everything that is in a Dell computer is manufactured in Asia. Since it is made there, there are virtually no shipping costs or import fees. Hence, cheaper computer.
