What are some laptop prices?

laptop prices
by NidalM

Hello, i’m currently planning on buying a laptop for college, but i want to know some prices.

Are there any laptops (PC) that are 4000$

I’m sure there are laptops that are that expensive, but it defeats the practicality of owning one at that point, as they are usually super gaming machines that weigh 20 pounds themselves.
www.newegg.com
That site should be a good starting point to get pricing on what you may want.

Hi there,

Not many laptops are going to cost that much (most are $ 2000 or less). To get an idea of what kind of specs you will get in different price ranges, I recommend you check out a tool called PC Scout and search by price range.

I hope this helps!

For college, I strongly recommend the mini netbook, and here’s why:
1. You can get one from http://onlynetbooks.com for $ 99, and they are a legitimate company
2. They are the lightest weight, small units – I assure you that you do not want to carry a laptop around campus. Ask people who are already in college and they’ll tell you. The onlynetbooks.com systems are lighter than a textbook, small and simple.
3. They do come with an Office Suite – a simple one, but one that is compatible with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. They also cannot get computer viruses, because they run on an embedded OS.
4. They jump onto WiFi easily.
5. Type notes in class or write papers in your room, and use a USB jump drive to print in the computer lab.
6. Charger is the size of a small cell phone charger, rather than the ridiculous sized laptop chargers.
7. They sell almost exclusively to college students for these reasons – cheap, simple, small/lightweight, good for taking notes and simple internet browsing. And you can save the rest of your money for more important things…

Anyway, good luck and happy studies!

samsung r530 laptop.i mean 2 years ago cheap was $ 750 and a netbook was $ 350, last year cheap was $ 600 and a netbook was $ 300, this year cheap is $ 400 and a netbook is $ 200.

how can they do this without massive drops in quality control and reliability?

many reasons for which econ101 has all the answers.

The cost of technology in general drops. Initially, it costs a lot to develop and manufacture new technology. That’s the cost of new stuff. As time goes by, the development costs go to nil and the manufacturing costs drop. These savings are passed on to the consumer. Well, except for Apple products.

As hardware gets older, less people want to buy it, and companies don’t know what to do with all the computers they have. The best solution is to lower the price.

That’s the beauty of America. with multiple companies making products, they’re all competing. It’s only natural that certain companies will work on making things cheaper without being horrible so that they will have the advantage. Also, its the effect of Supply and demand. 2 years ago, the demand for netbooks wasn’t so high. Now since companies know that their netbooks will sell, they can afford to make more for less.

because there is less of a demand and there easier to make. plus tablets and smartphones have come.
