i am looking to buy a laptop at microcenter in nj. first of all, does anyone know of a great laptop that comes at a cheap price? second, if you do, do u have any idea how cheap it’ll b on black friday at microcenter? do stores usually lower prices down a certain percent or do u get there and its randome? also, how early should i get there? thanx so much!!

Laptops are notoriously proprietary. You will need to get a HDD for that particular brand. I would look on eBay.
go to any computer shop and you will find one
go to newegg.com and get one – they are 2.5″ drives
Standard 2.5″ notebook hard drives are pretty cheap (under $ 100 for a good one) and are usually generic. What’s proprietary are the carriers and connectors, but if you’ve got a small Philips-head screwdriver you can take care of that in a jiffy.
I’m a pretty big Seagate fan when it comes to laptop hard drives. Also, if given a dollar-for-dollar choice, go for a FASTER hard drive (7200 RPM vs. 5400 RPM vs. 4200 RPM) versus a BIGGER one. Also pay attention to response time and buffer size.
